A Faith Based Community
Seventh & James Baptist Church works to be a community of commitment and covenant. The relationship each individual member has with God in Christ calls us all to a love that effects the way we live, individually and corporately.

Any person who decides to join the fellowship of Seventh & James affirms the reality of her or his salvation through Christ, the reality of a life being redeemed and the reality of what it means to be in community. Any person may join by profession of faith and a subsequent celebration of baptism, by transferring membership from another Baptist church or by statement that his or her own experience of baptism was personal and meaningful.

Our Statement of Purpose
Seventh & James Baptist Church seeks to be a community focused on the worship of God, responding to His grace as expressed in Jesus Christ. As such, we strive to be a caring community which nurtures Christian growth and fellowship and reflects God's love in unity and diversity. We accept our calling to be proclaimers of the Good News as we minister to each other, to the local community and to the world.
Chi Rho

Our logo combines the cross and the Greek letters "Chi" and "Rho" (X, P, the first two letters in the word Christ). The circular arrangement emphasizes fellowship (concentric arrows), unity (circle), promise (star) and hope (cross).

Our Congregational Covenant
We as a congregation recognize that we, too, have affirmations we need to make in response to someone joining. The following is our congregational covenant:
"In response to your decision, we pledge ourselves to be the family of God for you in this place; we offer you our love, our care, our kinship, and our hopes; we hope to learn from you, give to you, and receive from you, by God's grace. Amen."

Our Church Organization
The programs and ministries of the church are overseen by eight councils: Administrative, Education, Missions, Outreach, Inreach, Stewardship, Worship, and Children & Youth. The Cabinet, consisting of the chairs of each council, the deacon chair, the church moderator, two at-large representatives and the pastor (ex officio), coordinates budget generation, calendaring and short and long range planning. The deacons exist as a servant body assisting in the celebration of the ordinances, new member assimilation and the deacon ministry.
